trying something new

With Sister in town, it was time to find a quick project that could be picked up here and there in the midst of baby/toddler wrangling. I had learned to crochet about 10 years ago, but haven't picked up a hook since the Afghan That Shall Perhaps Be Finished (it has been unpacked from its bag, Mom, so maybe it will get stitched together yet this winter?), which was also started and nearly finished and then abandoned 10 years ago. Amigurumi seemed like the perfect choice, especially once cute patterns were found and Sister learned the basics of crochet. We had several enjoyable and relaxing evenings working away after the babes were in bed.

From Owlishly's Huevitos pattern (my Ravelry link)

From the very fun book Amigurumi Two that is full of cute projects, one of the Sweet Peas (Ravelry)
